Job Description - Shop Partner (Self employed Shop Manager) and Shop Manager

Reports to: Multi Site Manager

General Summary:

The Shop Partner utilises and coordinates all services provided by Hein Gericke (UK) Ltd to manage the store consistent with the short and long term interests of the company, its employees and the motorcycle community.

S/he will consistently provide our customers with the highest level of service possible and be responsible for achieving budgeted revenue goals.

The Shop Partner should be a voice in the motorcycle community and use the store as a theatre to inspire our customers.

Broad responsibilities: - In conjunction with the Multi Site Manager:

Customer Service

  • Instil in your employees the meaning and importance of customer service.
  • Empower staff to “use their best judgement” in customer service matters.
  • Promote and monitor quality of service amongst staff through training and by acting as a positive role model.
  • Create “seamless customer service” by making every effort to find merchandise for customers if an item is not in stock.
  • Be personally available to all customers to address their questions or concerns.

Sales

  • Meet or exceed the shops budgeted sales targets/KPI’s
  • Meet or exceed personal sales targets/KPI’s
  • Make staff aware of sales goals and assist them to meet or exceed their budgeted sales targets/KPI’s

Personnel

  • Inspire employees so that each person contributes equally to the productivity of the store.
  • Maintain staff levels that allow for the best possible customer service.
  • Delegate workload appropriately and effectively.
  • With the Area Sales Manager, evaluate all store employees on a regular basis.
  • When necessary, discipline employees consistent with the store disciplinary policy.

Communication

  • Communicate with the Multi Site Manager regularly so that your store and your employees are recognised for what they are doing, customer service, events and local issues.
  • Review on a monthly basis, the stores progress with the MSM.
  • Hold weekly staff meetings and submit findings to the Area Sales MSM.
  • Maintain open and positive relations with all persons in Hein Gericke (UK) Ltd
  • Maintain a feedback loop to the buyers with customer comments and employee opinions.
  • Ensure that Hein Gericke (UK) Ltd’s policies and procedures are communicated in a timely manner and adhered to IAW your contract.

Leadership, Training and Staff Development

  • Develop and support a positive attitude to Hein Gericke (UK) Ltd
  • Maintain employee attitude and moral by recognising outstanding performance and service.
  • Motivate and develop staff in order to encourage their professional development.
  • Maintain training standards to ensure both product and systems expertise that will improve store operations and allow for better customer service.
  • Provide an “open door policy” where employees are free to express their concerns and feelings without fear or retribution or ill will.

Activism

  • Create stores that are centres for the motorcycle community and can educate our customers on related issues.
  • Educate self and staff on motorcycle issues --- get actively involved!
  • Ensure we “walk the talk” by operating stores that supports the motorcycle community.

Merchandising/Marketing

  • Maintain high merchandising standards that reflect the Hein Gericke (UK) Ltd company image.
  • Work in conjunction with the marketing department on advertising in order to maximise retails sales for your store.
  • Assist the MSM in maintaining a merchandising plan that enhances product presentation and makes the store an exciting place to shop.

Legal Compliance

  • Ensure that the store is in compliance with all HSE and Employment laws.
  • Maintain safe working conditions for employees and customers; resolve safety concerns quickly.
  • Ensure store security from internal and external theft.
