In April of this year, motorcycle adventurer Nick Sanders embarks upon the ultimate motorcycle journey. And Hein Gericke will be along for the ride.
Nick’s ‘Parallel World’ expedition will see the 49-year-old Briton not only circumnavigate the globe, but at the same time travel as far up and down each continent as possible. In this way he intends to cover an estimated total distance of 80,000km, through 49 countries, in around 100 days. Solo.
And while most adventurers opt for a tried-and-tested GS, TransAlp or XT, Nick once more avoids taking the safe option by selecting Yamaha’s flagship supersports bike, the YZF-R1.
Nick has already circumnavigated the world six times by bike and in 2005 he recorded the fastest ever circuit of Earth aboard a motorcycle, logging 30,400km in just 19 days and three hours. But even he admits that Parallel World is going to be a real challenge.
Not only will it be a trial of Nick’s talent and determination, and of the reliability of his R1, but it will also put the Hein Gericke clothing he chooses to wear to the ultimate real-world test.
And www.hein-gericke.co.uk will be the best place to keep up to date with Nick’s progress on this epic journey.
