PART I: GERMANY ...
On a cold and rainy day in October 2007 a team of Hein Gericke’s German in-store experts and Head Office staff* climbed aboard their bikes and set off for a ride.
Although this kind of thing happens every day, on this occasion there was a special reason for the team to get up at the crack of dawn, fire up their machines and brave the elements. This time, they had volunteered to become models for a day.
Unlike supermodel Tyra Banks, who graced the cover of the 1997 Hein Gericke catalogue, every 2008 model is an experienced biker. So they didn’t need a personal assistant to dress them, or require several hours in make-up before shooting.
OK, so they may not be quite as easy on the eye as Tyra, but they definitely looked a lot better blasting through corners, popping wheelies and generally messing about on bikes.
And while Ms. Banks jetted off to an exotic, sun-soaked location, our guys just cruised a few miles up the road in Frankfurt and then had a run out to nearby Lorch. However, as these behind-the-scenes shots (below) show, they definitely had a lot more fun than she did, those 10 years ago.
Pick up a copy of our brand new catalogue**, have a dig around this website, or check out or latest advertising to see how the final shots turned out. And log back on to www.hein-gericke.co.uk for more spy shots from when a select band of UK shop partners joined the fun in spectacular, sunny Tenerife and grey old London.
